Why Her and Not Me?
“When she gets pregnant, and I am still trying.
When she has the baby shower, and I have nothing to celebrate.
When she delivers a beautiful child, and I experience a loss.
This questions creeps up on me no matter how much I guard my heart.
Why her and not me?”
I am honored to have my writing featured on the Waiting in Hope Infertility website today.
This question- Why her and not me? It's one that I asked a lot while watching everyone around me having babies while I was standing still, but that season isn't the first time I asked it and it hasn't been the last.
When she got engaged and I was still waiting on a first date.
When she got the dream job and I was still wondering how my aspirations fit into reality.
When she has something fall into her lap while I have to work hard for it.
This question is so difficult to navigate and dangerous to entertain because it destroys the relationships that should be our support system.
Check out the post to see how we can clear the space to see this question from a new perspective.
